NRAA HIE CROWNWeb Certification for EHR Vendors
The NRAA HIE facilitates a process for electronic health record (EHR) vendors to become certified to electronically submit data to the CROWNWeb repository through the NRAA HIE. This certification demonstrates the vendor has the technical capability to support this process and once certification is obtained may promote this capability as a feature of their software.
The certification process consists of several preparation and testing steps to submit production data to CROWNWeb through the NRAA HIE. This process includes:
- Preparing data files to meet the CROWNWeb format and business rules requirements
- Testing for conformance
- Testing for data content and business rule compliance
- Connectivity and end-to-end testing
A complete overview and listing of steps in the certification process are outlined in the NRAA HIE CROWNWeb Certification Guide.
CROWNWeb Reference Documents
The CROWNWeb reference documents listed below provide the logic and business rules for the CROWNWeb dataset. These definitions and rules are to be incorporated into the data file build-out.
The Kidney Data Dictionary (KDD) provides the data dictionary for the CROWNWeb data set. The latest version can be found on the CMS CROWNWeb release documents website. For reference, the baseline KDD is provided below.
Download the most frequently requested tables from the Appendix section of the KDD (provided in an Excel format) for use when developing EMR capability for producing the CROWNWeb xmls.
CROWNWeb Schema Information
CROWNWeb Schema provides the file format and business rule content for each version of CROWNWeb database releases. Schema releases include a delta outlining changes to file format or business rules, updated data error codes and other relevant information for the release. Listed below are all the Schemas released since the national roll-out in 2012.
